April Fellman

Hello, New Hope High School! My name is April Fellman, and I am honored and excited to join the New Hope family as your new Assistant Principal.

Education has always been my passion, and I have had the privilege of serving students in a variety of roles throughout my career, including elementary and middle school teacher, math coach, and assistant principal. I am a lifelong learner, holding National Board Certification, master's degrees in Educational Leadership and Curriculum & Instruction, and I am currently a doctoral candidate researching teacher self-efficacy in implementing productive struggle in elementary mathematics to help build strong mathematical foundations for students.

My husband and I have been married for 22 years, and together we have four amazing children. We have lived in several places, from Florida to Alaska to Las Vegas, but Skyline, Alabama, truly feels like home. I love the people, the beauty of this state, and the sense of community we've found here.

When I'm not at school or studying, you'll most likely find me spending time with my family—including our three dogs, who completely have my heart! I look forward to getting to know the students, families, faculty, and community at New Hope High School. Go Indians!
